Beantown travels out West for its first game of the 2022 WPL season

Beantown RFC will have its first game in the Women’s Premier League this coming weekend, on April 16th against Life West Gladiatrix, with the game scheduled to kick off at noon Pacific Time on the campus of St. Mary’s College in the Bay area.

The Women’s Premier League kicked off last weekend, with four games scheduled.  Beantown had a bye week in the first round. Beantown will complete in the five team Blue Conference of the ten team league.

Life West was the beneficiary of a forfeit in its first scheduled game, as the Chicago North Shore team was unable to travel with a full team. Check out the Rugby Breakdown’s report on that situation at the link here:

Elsewhere in the League, road teams were the happier, with New York defeating San Diego and Colorado downing Oregon.

There are going to be hiccups along the way as the league gets back on its feet after a two year hiatus, but hopefully as much of a full slate of games as possible will be played.

There won’t be a live stream of the game, as far as I know. After the trip to Life West, Beantown visits Atlanta on the 24th before having the first home game on April 30 against Berkeley All Blues.
